How do I update my DNS
You know how upon registration of the domain name you were
asked to enter primary and secondary DNS? Well, this is
the very information you will need to modify to complete the
DNS update. Simply log into your account and in place of your
old host's primary and secondary DNS write the information of
your new host's primary and secondary DNS. It's that simple! 2
lines of text!
Now, how do you find out the new information you need to enter?
Simply ask your new host to supply you with their DNS details
and off you go!
On the other hand if someone registered the domain name on your
behalf and there is no place where you can log into your account,
then, contact that person/company and simply ask them to update your
DNS records to point to the new DNS.
After all this information is changed, it can take between 24-72h
for it to be updated. After the update is complete you can go and
cancel your old hosting account.
