Forum Moderators
Many websites feature forums as a service to their viewers. It is a
good idea to have a “board monitor” or "forum Moderators" who makes sure that the Forum is not
featuring offensive or copyrighted material. Oftentimes, someone will post an
article to a message board that is copyrighted. In most cases, the poster is
doing so without knowledge of the possible legal ramifications for copyright
infringement.
It is the responsiblity of the site owner to make sure copyrighted material is
not placed on message boards or forums unless prior authorization has been given. Posting
entire articles on a forum is considered a copyright violation. The
owner of the website/forum can be used by the copyright owner if the
message is not deleted from the board. While your visitors may be offended by
their posts being deleted, it is not worth the risk to leave copyrighted
material on your message boards.
